Quick answer: Before a custom soft flask sample is approved, we check more than its appearance. Depending on the project, sample inspection can include printing adhesion, dimensions, weight, material and construction condition, and water leakage.
This article documents a real customer soft flask sample inspection performed by our team on July 30, 2026.
The inspection was part of an actual customer sample project. It was not created specifically for this article.
To protect our customer's commercial information, the customer's name, order number and branding have been redacted from the images published here. The testing methods and recorded results have not been changed.

A Real Soft Flask Sample Inspection
The sample test report was issued by Hangzhou Dawnjoint Business And Trading Co., Ltd. / Honey Dry Bag as part of an actual customer project.
Test date: July 30, 2026
Sampling quantity: 2 samples
Testing tools included:
- 3M tape
- Eraser
- Water
- Ruler
- Digital scale
For this sample project, the inspection focused on four practical areas:
- Printing adhesion
- Product dimensions and weight
- Material and construction condition
- Water leakage
These checks were used to identify practical product issues before customer approval.
1. Printing Adhesion Test
For an OEM or private-label soft flask, printing is not simply decoration. The finished product carries the customer's brand, so print adhesion is part of the sample evaluation.
During this inspection, 3M tape was firmly applied to the printed area and then quickly removed.
The test was repeated twice at the same position.
An eraser was also used to wipe the printing before the printed area was inspected for color loss or decoloration.
The acceptance criterion recorded in the report was:
Printing without color loss is qualified.
For the inspected samples, the recorded observation was:
No colour loss or decoloration at the printing.
This is a simple practical test, but it can help identify obvious printing adhesion problems before a customized product moves toward bulk production.
2. Dimensions and Weight Check
The samples were also physically measured during the inspection.
A ruler was used to check product dimensions, including length and width, while a digital scale was used to measure product weight.

For running soft flasks, these measurements are particularly important.
Two soft flasks may have the same nominal capacity but different physical dimensions.
For example, two 500ml flasks can differ in:
- Length
- Width
- Overall profile
- Neck dimensions
- Weight
Those differences can affect compatibility with running vest pockets, hydration belts and other carrying systems.
This is why we believe B2B buyers should evaluate an actual sample rather than relying only on nominal capacity or a product specification sheet.
3. Material and Construction Check
The inspection also included a physical check of the material and relevant construction areas.
The report records inspection of areas including the material, hot-pressed connections and sewing areas where applicable.
The sample was rubbed and pulled to check for visible cracking or construction problems.
The observation recorded for the inspected samples was:
Correct color and no cracking on the material, hot pressing connection and sewing area.
This matters because a soft flask does not remain in one fixed shape during use.
It may repeatedly be:
- Filled
- Squeezed
- Bent
- Compressed
- Inserted into a pocket
- Removed from a pocket
- Emptied
- Refilled
Visual appearance alone therefore does not provide a complete picture of a soft flask sample.
4. Water Leakage Test
Leakage is one of the most important functional checks for a soft flask.
For this sample inspection, the flask was filled with water and squeezed firmly to check whether water leaked from the product.

The acceptance criterion recorded in the report was straightforward:
No leakage = qualified.
Leakage = unqualified.
For the inspected samples, the recorded observation was:
No water leakage.
The final conclusion recorded in this sample inspection report was:
QUALIFIED.
Why We Are Publishing a Real QC Report
It is easy for a supplier website to say:
"We have strict quality control."
"We inspect our products."
"Our soft flasks are tested."
But these statements alone do not show a B2B buyer what actually happens during a sample project.
We want to provide more first-hand information about how our soft flask products are evaluated.
That is why this article is based on an actual customer sample inspection rather than a hypothetical quality-control checklist.
The report contains real:
- Testing methods
- Testing tools
- Sample information
- Inspection photographs
- Recorded observations
- Test date
- Final inspection result
At the same time, customer confidentiality matters to us.
For this reason, customer-identifying information, order information and customer branding have been removed from the public version.
What This Report Proves — and What It Does Not
Transparency also means being clear about the limits of a test result.
This report documents one customer sample inspection involving two samples.
It demonstrates how these particular samples were inspected and what observations were recorded during that inspection.
It should not be interpreted as proof that every soft flask in the market — or every future production unit — will automatically produce the same result.
This report is also an internal sample quality-control record.
It is not a substitute for an independent laboratory report, food-contact test or regulatory certification where those are required.
Internal QC and independent laboratory testing serve different purposes.
Our sample inspection can evaluate practical product characteristics such as:
- Printing
- Dimensions
- Weight
- Construction
- Leakage
If a customer's project requires specific food-contact, chemical or regulatory testing, those requirements should be evaluated separately according to the product and destination market.
Why Sample Testing Matters Before Bulk Production
Sample approval is an important stage in an OEM or private-label soft flask project.
It provides an opportunity to identify product issues before moving toward bulk production.
Depending on the product and project, sample evaluation may help identify issues involving:
- Printing adhesion
- Dimensions
- Product weight
- Material construction
- Leakage
- Color
- Cap or valve performance
- Compatibility with a running vest or belt
The exact inspection requirements can vary from project to project.
The important point is that the product should be evaluated as a real physical sample rather than only as specifications on a quotation.
What Should B2B Buyers Ask a Soft Flask Manufacturer?
Instead of asking only:
"Do you have quality control?"
B2B buyers can ask more specific questions:
- What do you inspect during sample development?
- How do you check for water leakage?
- How is logo printing evaluated?
- Are dimensions and weight verified?
- Can inspection photos be provided?
- What happens if a sample does not meet the agreed requirements?
- Which specifications are confirmed before bulk production?
- Can additional testing be arranged when required?
Specific questions help buyers understand the actual manufacturing and sample-development process instead of relying only on general quality claims.
More Real Manufacturing Evidence From Honey Dry Bag
Farhview.com represents our work with soft flask products and B2B customer projects.
We are gradually publishing more first-hand information from our actual product and manufacturing work, including:
- Real sample inspections
- Product measurements
- Leakage tests
- Printing tests
- Material information
- Quality-control procedures
- OEM and ODM development examples
When customer projects are used as examples, commercially sensitive information will be removed or anonymized.
When a test result comes from one particular sample or project, we will identify it as such instead of presenting that result as a universal claim.
Our goal is to give B2B buyers a clearer view of how a soft flask project is actually evaluated before production.
Final Result of This Sample Inspection
For the two samples documented in this inspection, the recorded observations included:
- Correct color
- No cracking observed in the material and relevant connection areas
- No color loss or decoloration observed in the printing
- No water leakage observed
The final inspection conclusion recorded in the report was:
QUALIFIED
This is one real example of how we evaluated customer soft flask samples before approval.
